Mike and Jane Kendall

Much of the work on these pages was designed and created by Jane Kendall who fell in love with the process and possibilities of linocut printmaking in around 2010. Mike prints Jane's designs entirely by hand on the kitchen table using rollers, paintbrushes, a glass chopping board, and the trusty burnishing spoon. The watercolour paintings are Mike's.

What is a linocut?

It was so nice to be invited to feature Jane's work in one of these short 'meet the maker' videos filmed by the lovely Owen from Boardwalk, a local estate agent which sponsored the 2023 South Bristol Arts Trail. It gives you a peek behind the scenes into the process of hand printing a linocut print.
